Kinnaur also known as ‘The land of Gods’ is an extremely beautiful district in the north East of Himachal Pradesh. About 235 kms from Shimla, it has three mountain ranges Zanskar, Greater Himalayas and Dhauladhar. It is surrounded by Tibet to the east. One of the famous religious spot in Kinnaur is Kinner Kailash.
Located at high altitude Kinnaur was a forbidden land until 1889 for outsiders; however, now this region has been opened for hikers and adventure seekers to explore what had been hidden from the world for centuries.

Temples at Kothi, Chhitkul, Sungra, Chango, Ropa, Charang and monasteries at Rarang, Brelengi is a must visit. As per ancient Hindu mythology people of Kinnaur are known as Kinners, the halfway between men and gods.

The best time to visit is June to Oct as during this time the climate is pleasant and orchards are filled with fruits. Travelers are advised to carry woolens with them because it will get really cold after evening. Snow filled peaks can be witnessed throughout the year.
